PET Cardiac Perfusion Imaging
Six Steps to PET Imaging
We know from decades of experience the decision to consider PET imaging for your cardiac scanning program is just the first step of many. We’ve developed a Six-Step process for planning, acquiring and implementing PET scanning for your practice.
Asking how much is important. Knowing how to, is critical.
STEP 1 Program Evaluation.
Unquestionably this is the most important part of the process. Working with your medical and administrative staff we examine in detail your clinical imaging program.
Knowing PET is reimbursable isn’t enough. It’s only the beginning. Acknowledging the clinical benefit, forecasting the potential number of patient scans and calculating the cost of operating the PET program are critical hurdles before making a decision to buy.
STEP 2 Purchasing a PET Program.
There are many choices for PET scanners. When it comes to PET cardiac perfusion imaging not all PET scanners are alike. Using the specific clinical throughput needs of your practice, we create a seamless buying process by combining the right PET scanner, software, services and accessories into one turnkey solution.
STEP 3 Preparing for Installation.
To ensure efficient, profitable and safe operation PET suite design is critical. Our installation experts work with your team to make certain that the PET suite is prepared properly and at the lowest cost. With years of PET installation experience our team oversees the planning and implementation of the PET suite helping you avoid costly oversights that waste time and money.
STEP 4 Installation.
With the PET suite ready and your license updated, the PET equipment and accessories are installed in about four-days. The PET scanner is tested and ready for use. Prior to installation we’ve coordinated all activities with Bracco Diagnostics the supplier of the radiopharmaceutical. The close working relationship between our two companies is a critical component for your clinical and financial success with PET.
STEP 5 Training.
The training program is unique and combines operation and applications into one session. Our goal is to have you performing clinical, billable scans during the second day of training. In the first two days of training the technologists gain critical insight into the day to day efficient operation of the PET scanner, patient handling and image processing. Your medical staff learns about the PET scanner and the acquisition, image processing package, display and reading of patient scans. All training is accomplished on site by our expert team. By the end of the second day, patient scan time is usually 40-45 minutes.
STEP 6 On Your Own.
Our customers are well trained and conducting six or more patient scans/day from the first day after training. With a one-year warranty for the PET scanner and a one-year back-up for over reads and clinical consultation your program is ready for success.
When it comes to cardiac PET, nobody does it better than Diagnostix Plus.
