Our June 2011 VG VG Hawkeye: Intensive Training Course

Keeping nuclear medicine engineers current in service knowledge is one of our primary missions. We recently and successfully completed a week long, intensive training course for the GE Millennium VG and VG Hawkeye systems. The comprehensive training included troubleshooting techniques, repairs, calibration, installation, and preventive maintenance with an experienced service engineer instructor that is highly familiar with VG; VG Hawkeye systems.

Topics covered:

  1. Installation
  2. De-installation and preparing the system for moving.
  3. Camera and computer operation associated with quality control calibration and trouble shooting.
  4. Calibration of the SPECT and CT
  5. Providing a preventive maintenance service visit.
  6. Trouble shooting with special emphasis on the most common service problems.
  7. Major repairs.
  8. Everything needed in order for students to know in order to demonstrate that the system is ready to be used clinically.

Two systems; one dedicated VG and one VG/Hawkeye was staged and operational as training tools.

Additional printed course information was provided to those attending including; service information, installation guides, schematics, and a full course outline.
